INTRO TO PMC

Instructor:  Howard Ross
Skill Level:  Any

Have you ever had the desire to make silver jewelry but didn’t know where to start? Well, now's your chance!  Howie is back in town!

Come and join our Basic Silver Clay class where you can experience a new creative adventure AND learn how easy and fun it is to make beautiful items from Precious Metal Clay (PMC).  Working with PMC is an exciting process where the inexperienced can explore their artistic abilities and create pure silver items that are unique and one-of-a-kind!

PMC is composed of microscopic particles of pure silver, an organic binder and water. This malleable, clay-like material can be molded, sculpted, extruded, carved, folded, textured, or stamped into the desired shape.  It is then fired in either a kiln or with a mini torch, and the binder and water burn away, resulting in a fascinating pure silver product.

You will learn safe kiln and torch techniques, and will actually create a pendant and set of earrings with pure silver, dichroic glass and cubic zirconia!  All materials are included...  even LUNCH!
